Godrej takes over India Circus to broaden its range in home d�cor and accessories. Friday, January 22, 2016 Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Co. Ltd made an announcement on Tuesday, 19 January regarding its acquisition of 51 per cent stake in India Circus Retail Private Limited. Circus sells home d�cor and accessories through its portal indiacircus.com.

Navroze Godrej, head of strategy and innovation at Godrej & Boyce said that �India Circus is complementary to our businesses of furnishings and consumer appliances. With this acquisition we strengthen our online presence and India Circus also gets an offline channel of sales.� Navroze over the coming months has been looking at bridging the gaps in the portfolio through acquisitions and collaborations in sectors like security, energy and renewables in India as well as abroad.

Godrej is also going to continue with its expansion of portfolio into lifestyle segment through investment in existing lifestyle brands as well as creating their own. India Circus will be closing FY 2016 with a revenue of Rs 20 crore according to Godrej.

India Circus said that it is expecting its market revenue to increae by 500 per cent in the coming two years owing to the merger. It also said that India Circus�s products are now going to be available at Godrej's 50 company-owned stores as well as 200 franchise stores.

Godrej is planning to keep the India Circus brand and is also going to launch its own web presence which will showcase its entire products available through the various group companies.
